Ascent focuses on youth who are at risk of being placed out-of-home or in an alternative school. Our mission is to bring hope where it has been lost. Bayou Community Health Center, Inc. program is designed to provide individualized, coordinated, intensive, comprehensive, and multidisciplinary treatment for clients with
mental illness. The partial hospitalization day treatment will assist clients to become more stable and transition to the community to prevent an inpatient treatment program. Professional services include Licensed Professional Staff services, community referrals and placement, medication monitoring, along with providing transportation. Services provided include Emergency On-Call (24) hours a day, Partial Hospitalization, Assessment and Screening, Individual/Group/Family Therapy, Family & Marriage Counseling, Anger Management, Child, Adolescents, Adults & Geriatrics. Services are reimbursed by Medicare, Private Insurance, and Private Pay.

Families Helping Families is an organization designed to assist adults and children with disabilities and special needs by connecting them with resource centers and professionals to help them. The organization offers lending libraries, workshops, newsletters, leadership trainings, special education and health care navigation, advocacy assistance, and peer-to-peer support.

Bayou Oaks Health Services is a Mental Health Rehabilitation (MHR) program that provides medical, counseling, and other services to youth and their families with a history of emotional/behavior disorders and to adults with severe mental illness. Services are provided in the home, community, and our office based on an individualized treatment plan. Services are available 24 hours a day to all patients for crisis situations.

“Families In Need of Services (FINS) became effective in all courts having juvenile jurisdiction on July 1, 1994, as Title VII of the Louisiana Children's Code. It is a new approach designed to bring together resources for the purpose of helping families (troubled youth and their parents) to remedy self destructive behaviors by juveniles and/or other family members. FINS goals are to reduce formal juvenile court involvement while generating appropriate community services to benefit the child and improve family relations. Juvenile Services is a member of the Statewide FINS Association”.

YCP accepts Louisiana residents, ages 16-19, who are drug free with no felony convictions. The program offers at risk adolescents an opportunity to earn a GED while learning important life skills including life coping skills, academic excellence, job skills, responsible citizenship, leadership/followership, health and hygiene, community service, and physical fitness.

Magnolia Family Services is a mental health rehabilitation center. It is a Medicaid program which provides services including psychiatric evaluations and treatment, medication management, family therapy sessions, individual therapy sessions, parenting skills development, child skills development, psychosocial skills training, behavior modification, and educational interventions.

Counseling services are provided by advanced graduate students under direct supervision of Psychology and Counselor Education Department faculty members who are licensed by the state of Louisiana. Services provided address issues such as, but are not limited to, parenting challenges, communication problems, anxiety, depression, grief management, stress management, career changes, and problems at work. The cost of sessions is dependent on income, but the maximum cost is $15 per session.
